Chilton School - The International Dimension At Chilton School we encourage everyone to feel that they are global citizens and to this end we encourage international contacts between schools, classes and individuals. ![]() Here is a picture of singing teachers! The whole school enjoyed learning a new German song, 'Silberglöcken klinge', so much so that we then went on to share this with the local church congregation on Education Sunday. We have swapped information with our partner schools about our home and school, and over the next 18 months will continue to share information about our village, towns, region and country. E-Twinning We have registered with E-Twinning which is a site where schools can contact other schools and exchange emails and become pen-pals. Year 4 have pen-pals in a school in France, near Bordeaux. They recently found out about a terrible storm which had damaged a large area of the countryside near their partner school. The Year 6 class has an Italian contact school and are preparing to email them soon! Uganda We also have a partner school; Babiito Day and Boarding school in Masaka, Uganda. We are at the beginning of this relationship and have swapped photographs and letters with the African school. We are planning to begin a joint curriculum project soon and are really excited at the prospect of future further contact with a very different part of the world. |
